	2010 Why Design Now? Cooper-Hewitt Design Exhibition Why Design Now? is the fourth installation in the National Design Triennial exhibition series launched by Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in 2000. The Triennial provides a sample of contemporary innovation, looking at what progressive designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and citizens are doing in diverse fields and at different scales around the world. The Etón FR600 radio is designed for use in emergency situations, when access to power may be interrupted and communication is vital to safety. Featuring weather and worldwide multiband radio channels, the unit also serves as a walkietalkie, cell-phone charger, flashlight, siren, and SOS light beacon. Powered by a solar cell as well as a hand-crank dynamo, the FR600 functions off the grid and without batteries. The hand crank uses a barrel-style hinge to fold flat against the front of the unit. The solar panel, which can power the radio even in overcast weather, is integrated into a bridge across the top of the device that also serves as a handle.

	2009 In-Howse Design Awards Joining the ranks of award-winning in-house teams, the design department at etoncorp was recognized for 2009 In-HOWse Design Awards by design publication, How Magazine.
	2009 Good Design The World’s Most Prestigious Global Awards for New Product Design. Featured in The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Etón is awarded for excellent industrial design.
	2009 CES Innovation Award At the center of the world of consumer electronics, CES Las Vegas, Etón is again awarded for its uncanny display of contemporary industrial design that is functional as well as beautiful in this world of sensory demands.
	2008 Red Dot Award With more than 11,000 submissions from 61 countries, the international “red dot design award” is the largest and most renowned design competition in the world. Etón is honored to win the red dot award for product design for the emergency radio product line. “Red dot; best of the best 2008” is the highest award of the competition, for pioneering design and special innovations.
	2008 International Design Excellence Award The IDEA® (International Design Excellence Awards) program is the premier international competition honoring design excellence in products, ecodesign, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts. Among the 77 silver winners out of the 1500 entries submitted, Etón FR500 and FR1000 won a design award for Communication Tools in this year’s 2008 IDEA.
	2008 Spark Award Spark is a bold new competition—a unique crossroads of design, where the interests of all participants in the community are represented and their strengths brought to bear. The 2008 Spark Design Awards put more than 360 entries under the microscope last month, with the best being selected by a jury of prestigious names in global design.
	2005 Design & Engineering Showcase Award The P’7132 Porsche Design by Etón radio was a winner at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show. It was recognized in the Personal Electronics category for being in a “class of its own.” The awards committee noted that “its sleek body, metallic finish, and backlit LCD make a beautiful exterior for a sophisticated portable radio.”
	2005 Design & Engineering Showcase Award Our innovation in electronics was recognized once again at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show. The P’7131 Porsche Design by Etón radio was honored in the High Performance Audio category. The awards committee said its design was “sure to turn heads.”

In 2005, we were honored for the P’7131 Porsche Design by Etón radio. 	2004 Design & Engineering Showcase Award The Etón E1XM is the first-ever radio to combine AM, FM, and shortwave reception with XM satellite-ready technology, all in one sleek package. This award, which we received at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show, recognizes our innovation in the High Performance Audio category. A panel of industrial engineers, independent engineers, and members of the trade press awarded us this honor.
